I research and teach how artists create the conditions for open-ended inquiry with groups traditionally marginalized from participation in the arts world. I founded and led New Urban Arts, a community arts organization for public high school students and artists from 1997-2007. Now I research with its studio members. I have no idea who Nicholas Carr or Slavov Zizek are, and Galaga makes me very nervous.
