We are proud to announce that the third annual THATCamp NE will be held at Brown University in Providence, RI on October 19-20, with a great workshop program being planned for Friday, Oct. 19, and the (as always) stimulating, entertaining and enthusiastic THATCamp sessions all day Saturday, Oct. 20.

The THATCamp New England twitter account will continue to be @THATCampNE and our hashtag will be #thatcampne.

We are looking for people to help out with THATCamp – to suggest workshops that they want to teach or attend, to help us get the word out, to make donations and, most importantly, to attend. If you would like to volunteer, please email " target="_blank">

The Humanities and Technology Camp—or THATCamp—is a user-generated “unconference” in the digital humanities. Instead of being constructed around a specific theme or discipline, the program is based on attendee interests and is agreed upon at the beginning of the event. An unconference relies heavily on interaction and face-to-face conversations. THATCamp participants present their work, share their knowledge, and actively collaborate with fellow participants.

During THATCamp, sessions will likely range from discussions of current issues in digital scholarship, pedagogy, and curation to software demos, training sessions, and lightning talks. In other words, participants are neither expected nor encouraged to present formally arranged talks, papers, or panels. Prior to the event, participants will be invited to contribute to the THATCamp New England website and share their ideas for potential THATCamp sessions. Once at the event, they will collectively agree on the sessions where those conversations will take place.
