THATCamp 2012 in a Nutshell
THATCamp New England is an unconference that brings together scholars working in digital humanities. The 2012 meeting will be held at Brown University. The main unconference will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012. Workshops will be held the Friday before, October 19.-

SueEllen has been with the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities since 2003, when she was first hired as an independent consultant to produce the topical radio series "Action Speaks: Underappreciated Days that Changed America." That experience changed the path of her life and inspired her make a career out of fostering the public humanities in Rhode Island. In 2004, she was hired as Program Officer, and has served as Grants Director since 2008. As administer of RICH’s grants program, SueEllen counsels prospective applicants through the grants process by providing support, a sounding board, and advice along the way. SueEllen's is currently interested in research that makes the case for the humanities as a driver for economic development. More high tech jobs to advance our public humanities institutions! She is also interested in strategic collaboration, including academic and public partnerships.
SueEllen is a native of Massachusetts, but was lured to Providence in 2001 enamored by the city’s sense of community and its rich cultural life. Since her arrival, SueEllen has helped out on various community projects, including founding the RI Human Rights Film Festival (2001 – 2006). In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, bike rides, collecting African literature and working on her historic home. SueEllen holds a BA in English Literature from Wheaton College.
