I am a historical editor with the Adams Papers, a project that publishes the selected writings of John and Abigail Adams and three generations of their family. Originally the project was conceived as a print edition, but a growing emphasis on digital production has resulted in the digitization of more than forty previously published volumes and an increasing amount of unpublished manuscript material being made available through the MHS website (www.masshist.org/adams). We now look toward creating a single-source production process to enable the publication of both letterpress and digital editions and to create a platform for the development of additional digital media.
